THA Awards for Excellence Judging

Each year the judging for the THA Awards for Excellence is undertaken by an independent set of judges. The Chair of Judges for restaurant judging has written a number of articles for us that have been published in Hospitality Review. These articles describe how restaurant judging is conducted, the criteria used and some common issues that judges note as they go about the judging process. If you have specific questions about any judging matters please give Sue a call on 6224 7033 and she can seek clarification from the judges for you.

THA 2011 Awards for Excellence Submission Requirements

We recommend that all members considering entering the Awards for Excellence carefully review the category criteria and submission requirements. When making a submission it is important that you address each of the criteria carefully in order to give your entry the best chance of success. Each criteria is worth a set number of points that go towards your overall score, the venue with the highest score is the winner. Here are the criteria and submission requirements for the 2011 THA Awards for Excellence. The 2012 Submission requirements and criteria will be available in late November after they receive their annual review.

2011 National RCA Awards for Excellence

The 2011 RCA Awards for Excellence dinner was held in Sydney at Luna Park on the 24th of October. All restaurants who won categories in the 2011 THA Awards for Excellence were automatically entered in the RCA National Awards. Congratulations to Meadowbank Estate for their success taking out the Best Informal Dining Award in Australia! Our congratulations also go to the other entrants who were not successful on the night, qualifying for these awards is something that all venues can be proud of.

2011 National AHA Awards for Excellence

The 2011 AHA Awards for Excellence was held in Sydney on the Sunday the 21st of August. This year we had two successful venues with Stillwater Restaurant taking out the inaugural Best Stand-alone Restaurant Award and Saffire winning the Best Overall Hotel (Accommodation) and Best Deluxe Accommodation Awards. These three awards are very highly respected awards and both venues should be very proud of their success. Congratulations also to all the other entrants who were not successful on the night, to have qualified for these awards puts your venue on a highly respected level alongside many of the countries best venues.

2011 THA Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner 2nd May 2011

The 2011 THA Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner (proudly sponsored by Franklyn Scholar) was held at Wrest Point Hotel Casino on Monday, 2nd May 2011. Our thanks to all venues who participated, and our congratulations to all those who were successful in their categories.
